Cometa Architects is an international architecture and design studio based in Barcelona, founded by Víctor Gonzalez Martí and Faidra Matziaraki. The practice engages in projects in Barcelona and has completed works in Spain, the UK, Greece, Rwanda, China, and Mallorca. Their approach is defined by a focus on concept, materiality, craftsmanship, and spatial atmosphere, developed through hands-on prototyping and close collaboration with artisans and builders.
A core part of their methodology is their in-house design-and-build division, which includes a showroom, workshop, and construction team operating under the same vision. This integrated structure ensures full creative and technical control from concept to completion, allowing each project to respond precisely to its context, climate, and users.
Their work has been widely published and awarded, including recognition from the Ibero-American Biennial. Cometa is also regularly invited by universities and foundations to present their work. With a team fluent in Spanish, Catalan, Greek, and English, the studio combines international reach with a deep sensitivity to local craft traditions.
Faidra Andriana Matziaraki (Athens, Greece) studied Architecture at the University of Manchester (BA Hons) and the University of Edinburgh (March, 2004), graduating with Distinction and receiving multiple academic awards and honors. In 2011, she completed a Master’s Degree in Emergency Sustainable Architecture at the International University of Catalonia (UIC) in Spain.
She gained her formative professional experience at Richard Rogers Partnership in London. In parallel, she has been actively involved with non-governmental organizations, contributing to projects that intersect architecture, sustainability, and community engagement.
Víctor González Martí (Barcelona, Spain) is an architect and co-founder of Cometa Architects. He studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), graduating with Distinction in 2010. His final-year thesis was presented in several national exhibitions, and he received a scholarship from the Barcelona Glass Foundation.
He began his career at leading Barcelona-based offices such as Brullet De Luna Arquitectes, where he contributed to large-scale public and institutional projects.
