Cometa Architects and Creative Assemblages were awarded the Premio Otras Coordenadas at the XIII Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo (BIAU), held in Lima, Peru, for their Swap Battery Station for E-moto Taxis in Rwanda and Kenya. The winning project proposes a modular, scalable, and low-cost infrastructure to support a regional e-mobility network in East Africa. Designed with sustainability, security, and adaptability in mind, the stations can be easily assembled, branded, and tailored to different urban and rural contexts. The award was announced during a week of exhibitions, conferences, and public forums that took place in diverse neighborhoods of Lima, including Villa El Salvador, where architecture was celebrated as a tool for territorial equity and climate resilience.
